Our MISSION focus for the month of JUNE is MILITARY CARE PACKAGES & MAIL FROM HOME. We still have men and women serving overseas in harsh conditions and in harm’s way who welcome care packages containing the comforts of home. Instead of bringing in random items, our team of shoppers will use your financial donations to thoughtfully fill the boxes. Please make your checks out to ZION UMC re: Military.  Or place your cash donations in the mission basket provided in the Fellowship Room +/or take an envelope on the display poster and write a letter!


SUNDAY, JUNE 21, 9:30 AM - Morning Worship.  Father's Day cookies for all our men baked by the zum-zum pep club!  Bob Peterson's grandson, Hayden, will play What A Friend We Have In Jesus"  on the harmonica.  Pastor Diana continues her 15 in 2015 Sermon Series in keeping with our members who are reading the One Year Bible. This week's theme is the prophet Elisha.

Pastor Diana will be on vacation June 22 to June 29. For parish emergencies, please call Keith Koppen @ 224-535-1304 who will arrange for a clergy person to meet with you for funeral arrangements or any other serious situation.

SUNDAY, June 28, 9:30 AM - Morning Worship.  Zion's Lay Speaker,  Keith Koppen, will preach.  His sermon is entitled: "Your church and you."  Nils von Keudell will serve as Liturgist. John & Linda Gehringer will serve as Greeters & Ushers.  Music led by Deanne Tamms, our pianist/organist.

SUNDAY, July 5, 9:30 AM - Morning Worship with HOLY COMMUNION.  The Lord's Table is open to ALL. Pastor Diana continues her 15 in 2015 Sermon Series in keeping with our 21 members who are reading the One Year Bible. She always has a special message for the children too!

JULY 9 to 12 - Seven church members plus a friend will travel to Lexington, KY, for the NATIONAL 2015 ALDERSGATE CONFERENCE ON SPIRIT-LED LIVING.

THURSDAY, July 9, 11:30 AM - All the women of the church and their guests are cordially invited to the Zion United Methodist Women's Summer Outing.  Please meet at the church to carpool to the Brunch Café in Huntley.  Please RSVP to Eleanor @ 847-515-7969.  ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE NEEDED.

SATURDAY, July 11, 7 AM - Men's Breakfast Club at the Rose Garden Restaurant.  No reservations needed  - just show up to enjoy the monthly gathering of mature Christian men in an ecumenical fellowship of prayer, food and conversation.

SUNDAY, JULY 12, 9:30 AM - Morning Worship - For 2000 years, early in the morning on the first day of the week, the followers of Jesus Christ have been and continue to gather together to sing His praises, practice His Way, and share His Witness.  Come and join us!  Bill Tamms, Liturgist.  Music led by Deanne Tamms.
